Certificate of Authenticity Maker

A signed, numbered certificate for your 925 silver or handcrafted piece — the paper that makes a WhatsApp buyer trust a small brand.

A buyer asks on WhatsApp whether the piece is really 925, and there is nothing to send back. The stamp is on the metal and the purity is on your bill, but nothing in her hand says it in words. Bigger brands put a numbered certificate in the box — this is about what that paper has to say to be worth anything.

What it will do

  • A numbered certificate filled from your stock code, weight, purity and stone details.
  • Purity worded to match how you actually know it — hallmarked, tested, or stamped as supplied.
  • A box-size card and an A4 sheet, each with your shop name, GSTIN and a signature line.
  • A running number series and a register sheet, so every certificate traces back to a bill.
  • Plating stated properly — base metal and micron — and stones named natural, lab-grown or CZ.

Who reaches for it: Silver, oxidised and handmade sellers shipping to strangers, where the piece carries no hallmark and your word is the only proof in the box.

Sellers also ask

Is a seller's certificate of authenticity legally valid in India?

It is your own declaration, not a government or lab document. That still carries weight — what you write binds you, and a wrong purity claim is misdescription under consumer law — but it does not prove purity by itself. The proofs that do are the BIS hallmark on the metal, an assaying centre report, or a gem lab report for stones.

What should a 925 silver certificate of authenticity actually say?

925 is sterling: 92.5% silver, the rest usually copper; 999 is fine silver. Write purity the way you truly know it — hallmarked, tested, or stamped 925 as supplied. Then the stock code, gross and net weight, stones named as natural, lab-grown or CZ, your shop name and GSTIN, a number matching the bill, the date and a signature.

Does silver jewellery need a BIS hallmark before I can sell it?

No. Silver hallmarking in India is voluntary, while gold jewellery hallmarking is mandatory for sale — which is why the paper you write does so much work on silver. There is no HUID to look up as there is on hallmarked gold, so your certificate and your bill are what the buyer holds. Unstamped is not the same as impure.
