Jewellery Care Card Maker

A print-ready care card for every material you sell — oxidised, gold-plated, kundan, pearls — so pieces last and returns don't happen.

The piece leaves your hand bright and comes back in three weeks with the colour gone — worn in the bath, sprayed with perfume, scrubbed with toothpaste. Nobody ever told the buyer. A care card is the small printed slip in the parcel that says, in one line per material, what finishes this piece and what keeps it.

What it will do

  • Pick the material — oxidised, gold-plated, kundan, pearl, 925 — and print the card for it
  • Lay the cards out on A4 with cut marks, sized to drop into a pouch or a parcel
  • Put your shop name, WhatsApp number and exchange line on the back of every card
  • Carry the honest plating line: coat thickness, and what daily wear does to it
  • Give you the same care wording as a dispatch message and a listing paragraph

Who reaches for it: Anyone shipping oxidised, gold-plated, kundan or pearl pieces — where most 'quality issue' returns are really care nobody explained.

Sellers also ask

How long does gold plating last on artificial jewellery?

It depends on how thick the coat is and how the piece is worn, and no plating is permanent. Plating is measured in microns: a thin flash coat starts showing brass at the edges and chain links within weeks of daily wear, a heavier coat lasts far longer. Sweat, perfume, sanitiser and any abrasive take it off fastest. State the coat in your listing and never promise lifetime colour.

How do I clean oxidised silver jewellery without removing the black?

The black is the finish, not dirt. Silver-dip liquid, toothpaste and baking soda strip it out of the recesses and the piece comes back bright, flat and lifeless. Wipe the raised parts only, with a dry soft cotton cloth, and leave the dark grooves alone. No soaking, no ultrasonic. Store it dry in a closed pouch — sweat and humidity are what thin the finish.

What should a jewellery care card actually say?

Four lines cover most pieces: last thing on, first thing off; wipe dry with cotton after every wear; keep each piece in its own pouch; and the one thing that ruins this material — water and heat for kundan, where lac and foil sit behind the stone, perfume and lemon for pearls, abrasives for anything plated. Keep the purity words the same as the tag and bill: 925, 916 for 22K, 750 for 18K.
