How do I make a GST invoice for jewellery with HUID?
This maker builds a compliant jewellery bill: HSN 7113, HUID per item, gross and net weight, metal and making as their own lines, the GST worked the way the bill is written (CGST/SGST or IGST by state), amount in words. Three invoices a month free.
What GST rate applies on a jewellery invoice?
It follows what was supplied, not a fixed split. A finished piece handed over ready-made is one supply of goods, so 3% applies to the whole value with making included — the usual retail bill. Where the making was supplied as its own service and billed apart, that bill carries 3% on the metal and stones and 5% on the making. Either way it prints as CGST + SGST within your state or one IGST across states, and the maker asks which case your bill is rather than assuming.
What is HSN code 7113 in a jewellery bill?
HSN 7113 covers articles of jewellery made of precious metal — gold, silver or platinum, plain or stone-set — and it is the code every item row starts with here. Making-only job work is billed under 9988 instead, because that is a service, not a sale of the piece. You can type a different code on any row if your accountant uses one.
What is the difference between gross weight and net weight in gold jewellery?
Gross weight is the whole piece on the scale — metal plus stones, beads, lac or thread. Net weight is the metal alone, and metal value is charged on net weight × rate per gram, never on gross. The bill takes both: net drives the amount, and gross prints under the item line so the customer can see what was left out.
How do I make a bill for job work when the customer brings their own gold?
On job work you bill only your making charge — the customer's own metal is not sold, so it stays out of the taxable value, and the charge goes under HSN 9988 at 5% GST. In this maker the job-work bill type is a Tools Pro feature: it presets 9988 on the rows and expects net weight and rate left empty, so only the making amount is taxed.
Is the HUID number required on a gold jewellery invoice?
A hallmarked gold piece carries a six-character HUID, and writing it on the bill lets the buyer match the code marked on the piece with the code on the paper — the same one the BIS Care app looks up. Every item row here has an HUID box, and it prints under the description beside the gross weight. Leave it empty on stock that carries no HUID, such as silver.
Can I put my shop logo and my own invoice number series on the bill?
Both are part of Tools Pro. A free bill prints your shop name, address, GSTIN and phone as the header, and the invoice number moves up by one after each download, so the counter keeps itself. Tools Pro adds your logo at the head, a series prefix such as MJ-2026/ in front of that number, a saved customer book and five more paper styles.
