Will compressing spoil the shine and detail of my jewellery photos?

Meesho rejected my jewellery photo — how do I fix the size?
Bring it under 2 MB — that is the line the Meesho destination works to here, and a 4–5 MB phone photo is usually what trips the upload. Pick Meesho and the highest quality that still fits is found for you, with a 512 px floor so the frame never gets too small. The Meesho reject fix chip also holds the long edge at 1,024 px.
Why won't my iPhone photos open in the compressor?
They are almost certainly HEIC files, which browsers cannot open at all. On the iPhone, open Settings, then Camera, then Formats, and choose Most Compatible so new photos save as JPEG. For photos already shot, share them to yourself as JPEG first. Any HEIC file you drop in is named on the spot instead of failing quietly.
JPEG, WebP or PNG — which format should I use for jewellery photos?
JPEG for anything going to a marketplace — Meesho, Flipkart and Amazon all take it, and it is the default here. WebP for your own website, where the same photo holds its look in fewer KB; the Website hero destination targets 150 KB at a 1,600 px edge. Keep PNG only when you need transparency, since it stays lossless and the files run much larger.
How do I compress an Amazon jewellery photo without losing the zoom?
Cut the KB, not the pixels: Amazon turns on hover-zoom when the long edge is 1600 px or more, so a photo shrunk below that loses the zoom. The Amazon destination allows up to 10 MB and holds the edge between 1,000 and 10,000 px. The Amazon zoom-safe chip does both at once — under 2 MB with the edge held at 1,600 px or more.
