Sellers also ask

Is an 11+1 gold scheme really an 8.33% discount?

On the sticker, yes — one free instalment on twelve is 8.33% off, and because you paid in slowly it works out near a 17% annual return. But it only holds if the shop's rate on redemption day is honest, the making charge doesn't climb, and you were going to buy there anyway. This tool prices every one of those catches in rupees.

Should I tell my customer the scheme beats a bank RD?

The maths says the scheme's benefit is bigger than 11 months of RD interest — but an RD returns cash you can spend anywhere, and a scheme returns credit locked to one counter with no deposit insurance. This tool prints both sides on one sheet so you can say it straight and be trusted for it.

Why are jeweller gold schemes always 11 months and not 12?

Because a jeweller's scheme sits under the Companies Act deposit rules: money taken as an advance for goods has to be adjusted within 365 days, so 11 collections plus a 12th-month redemption keeps the whole thing inside the year. The comparator prices any tenure from 3 to 24 months and stops there, with that rule stated on screen.

Money scheme or gram scheme — which should I offer at my counter?

A money scheme collects rupees and buys gold at the redemption-day rate, and it is the one that normally carries the bonus instalment; a gram scheme locks grams at each month's rate and normally carries none. So the money scheme pays off when the rate stays flat, the gram scheme protects the customer when it runs up. The comparator prices the same instalment both ways and shows the grams side by side.

Our scheme's bonus applies to making charges only — what is it actually worth?

Much less than the board suggests, because the making inside the redemption bill is the ceiling. Where making is 14% of the metal value, making works out to roughly ₹12 in every ₹100 of the bill — so any bonus above that simply cannot be spent on that piece. The comparator applies the cap and shows in rupees how much of the bonus is stranded.

Do I charge GST on the monthly gold scheme instalments?

No — an instalment is an advance for goods, and GST on advances for goods was withdrawn by Notification 66/2017, so nothing is collected as the money comes in. The tax lands once, on the redemption invoice, at whatever that invoice's own classification carries: redeem into a finished piece off the tray and it is one supply of goods, 3% on the whole value with making included. The 5% making line applies only where the making was supplied as its own service and billed apart. The counter card prints that condition, not a fixed split.

Is this gold scheme comparator free to use?

Yes — every comparison and the printable A4 counter card are free, with no limit on how many schemes you price. Tools Pro adds five premium card designs carrying your shop name and logo, a 1080×1920 WhatsApp-status version of the verdict, up to 20 saved schemes compared three at a time, and the same card for your own website.
